Gym Rules and Code of Conduct
Last updated: 18 October 2026
These rules keep BoxcleverLDN safe, friendly and welcoming for everyone. By training with us you agree to follow them and the instructions of our coaches.
Respect
Treat members, coaches and staff with respect. We don't tolerate abusive, aggressive, discriminatory or intimidating behaviour, on or off the gym floor.
Follow your coach's instructions at all times.
Health and safety
Tell your coach about any injury, illness or medical condition before you train, and stop straight away if you feel unwell.
Don't train under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Warm up properly. If you're more than 10 minutes late, you won't be able to join the class.
Wear clean trainers and suitable sportswear. No outdoor shoes on the mats or in the ring.
Sparring
Contact sparring only happens in our Sparring class or when a coach has arranged it, and always under a coach's supervision.
A gumshield is compulsory. We provide headguards and sparring gloves.
Your coach will match partners by experience and weight, and can stop a round at any time.
Never spar if you've had a recent head injury or concussion. You’ll need written clearance from a doctor before you spar again.
Under-18s may only do light technical sparring, with written consent from a parent or guardian and a coach supervising.
Equipment and hygiene
Wipe down equipment after use and put it back where you found it.
Use clean hand wraps. Loan gloves and wraps are available for first-timers.
Bring a towel and a water bottle.
Lockers and belongings
Use the lockers for your belongings. We can't accept responsibility for items lost or stolen on the premises.
We keep lost property for 4 weeks. After that, it’s donated or thrown away.
Phones and photos
Keep phones out of the way during classes. Don't photograph or film other members without permission, and never in changing areas. See our Photo and Filming Policy.
Breaking the rules
If someone breaks these rules, our coaches may ask them to leave the session. Serious or repeated breaches may lead to membership being suspended or cancelled, in line with our Terms and Conditions.
